Alberto Vázquez is an animation director, illustrator and comic author. His books have been published internationally and his illustrations have appeared in media outlets around the world. He has written and directed animated short films such as Birdboy, Unicorn Blood, Decorado and Homeless Home, as well as the feature films Psiconautas: The Forgotten Children and Unicorn Wars.
He has won four Goya Awards, including Best Animated Feature for Psiconautas and Best Animated Feature in 2023 for Unicorn Wars. His work has received over 100 awards at festivals such as Annecy, Stuttgart and Sitges. His latest film, Decorado (2025), premiered recently at the Sitges Film Festival.
